Evo Morales is a Nica Tlaca (Indigenous person of the "Western Hemisphere") of Aymara descent of Bolivia who has recently been democratically elected President of Bolivia. In Bolivia he is already looked at as a hero for the Nican Tlaca people of Bolivia. We here at Mexica Movement are hoping that he will be a hero for all Nican Tlaca of Cemanahuac ("Western Hemisphere"). We are in happiness that one of our people has the potential of being in the leadership of what will hopefully be great collective effort for the liberation of all of Cemanahuac.

RACISTS CONFRONTED

We've been busy these last few weeks and this is our first chance to add to our Mexica Movement Magazine. The last few weeks have been about the confrontation that we had with the SOS and Minutemen racist groups at the Home Depot in Glendale, California on December 10, 2005.
The SOS and Minutemen were there to protest our people being hired as "daylaborers" at the Home Depot.

Recently, the Mexica Movement has participated in a series of counter-protests against the racist members of the Minuteman Project and Save Our State organizations. One of the main reasons why we participate in these demonstrations is that we seek to reframe the whole "illegal immigrant" debate by emphasizing that we, the Nican Tlaca (Indigenous) people of Mexico/"Central America" and the rest of "North America" (including the part of our continent that is called "the United States") are the true owners of this whole continent.
We make an issue that we cannot be "foreigners" or "illegals" on our own land, our own continent, and that the only illegals are the European invaders and squatters and their descendants who continue to occupy and colonize our homeland. We also like to stress to these racist colonists that our Mexica Movement organization is not just about Aztlan (“the Southwest" in the old Chicano approach), but that we are about the whole continent that they call "North America"!
Following our confrontations with the SOS and Minutemen, an observation of the racist organizations’ websites revealed that many of its members try to falsely undercut our position by suggesting that we are not "real Indians," and that our claims to ownership of this whole continent are baseless. They claim that we are some sort of Europeans ourselves. (see photo on top to see if we look like Europeans).
After reading and hearing so much of this racist nonsense, I feel that a response to this contemptible insult is now warranted.
No one can reasonably (using their eyes) deny that a large portion of the Nican Tlaca population in Mexico/"Central America", "the United States", and the rest of "North America" is "Full-blood"---and that another larger portion is "Mixed-blood," as a result of the vicious and immoral Genocide and rape perpetrated upon us by the European invaders. But to say that the entire Nican Tlaca population of Mexico and "Central America", as well as those of us living in "the United States", is composed of all Mixed-bloods who are mostly European in their blood is dead wrong, monstrously wrong.
Officially, in Mexico, over 30% of our population is Full-blood (without any mix from the European rape) which means that over 40 million of our people in Mexico and "Central America" are Full-blood, and that as many of our brothers and sisters living in official concentration camps (“reservations”) and unofficial “reservations” (“barrios”) across the “United States" fall slightly under or mostly over this percentage. Only about 1% of the population of Mexico and "Central America" can document "pure European" blood. Another 9% passes for white, but are really Nican Tlaca. The rest of our population (60-69%) is Mixed-blood, the majority of this population "looks" Full-blood or at least definitely not European.
So does the fact that some of us are Mixed-blood negate our claims to be the rightful owners of this continent? Absolutely not! And to prove this we need only look to the present-day state of Israel/Palestine for an example.
Among those interested in studying the history of the Jews, and there are many scholars doing so, a particularly contentious debate is the theory that the Ashkenazi Jews are the descendants of the Khazars, a group of Turkic people that converted to Judaism in around 760 A.D. ("The Jews and Europe," p. 66). This issue is particularly explosive among Zionists, because if true, then a large number of European Jews currently living in Israel may not have any direct claim (DNA) to the land itself (outside of a “spiritual” claim). Even if only a small number of present-day Jews are the descendents of converts, what is undeniable is that a majority, if not all of the population, is a mixture of Middle-Eastern and European/Asian peoples. This fact is confirmed by modern DNA evidence. DNA evidence shows that a Middle-Eastern Y-chromosome passed on from father to son can be found throughout the Ashkenazi population. But a test of mtDNA, which traces genetic information passed on from mother to child, matches those of various European populations. The article concludes that after the fall of ancient Israel, Jews were forced to disperse throughout Europe, and that Jewish males tended to interracially mix with their European female hosts.
So if the majority, if not all, of the Jewish people today are a mixture of Middle Eastern/European /African/Asian peoples, does it mean that they are not "real Jews?" Does this mean that they have no legitimate claim to the land of Israel, because NONE of them are pure blood Israelites? Of course not, and to even suggest such a thing is unacceptable to Jewish people and to most of the world. They are Jews—END OF QUESTION.
If this is the case, then why are we, the obvious descendants of the true original inhabitants and real owners of the Western Hemisphere denied our heritage?
Why is a Mixed-blood Jew a Jew, but a Mixed-blood Nican Tlaca with a trivial amount of European blood not a true Nican Tlaca? Because to admit that much is to destroy the very foundation that bigoted groups like the Minuteman and SOS stand upon. It is their very last line of illogical defense.
European colonizers occupying the Western Hemisphere are the last group who want to recognize this obvious and inconvenient truth of our identity and our ownership of this whole continent.
To further illustrate my point, I would like to relay the experiences that I had two summers ago on a trip to Europe and the Middle East. I visited several countries in Europe, including Greece, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and England. I mainly stayed in hostels, so I came into contact with dozens upon dozens of travelers from around the world. While sitting around with them the question inevitably came up "Are you an Indian?" And by "Indian" they meant Nican Tlaca. 100 PERCENT of the time people from Europe assumed I was "Indian." Not once did they look at me and say "Hey, you sure look like a Hispanic, are you going home to visit Spain?" Not once did they look at me and say "Hey you are one of our lost brothers living in America, aren't you? Welcome back to your homeland of Europe." 100 PERCENT of the time they asked me if I was an "Indian"—Nican Tlaca!! To which I would reply, "Yes, I am Mexican, which is basically an 'Indian' with a Spanish surname." An answer to which everyone shook their heads in agreement.
So listen up Minutemen and SOSers, even YOUR brothers in Europe can instantly tell that we are not some sort of pseudo-Europeans or non-Indigenous people, but that we are the "Indians" you claim and wish us not to be. And even if some of us cannot "prove" membership to a particular "tribe," that does not mean that we cannot claim a Nican Tlaca heritage and identity. Remember, if you bother to read real history, that the majority of our population never was tribal. We were living in cities. We were in our vast majority an urban people. Some of us were living in large towns. Only a tiny percentage of our people were living a "tribal" way of life. Therefore we don’t need any tribal affiliation. The color of our skin, our blood, our mirrors, our DNA, and our land and continent tell us who we are.We don’t need acceptance from you, in order to assert our Nican Tlaca identity or our ownership of this continent.
If Europeans on our continent wish to question our right to our Nican Tlaca identity because they claim that tribal affiliation is key to being "real Indians", then they must also question the rights of modern day Jews to prove what tribe they are a part of—Asher? Dan? Simeon? To Jews it is not an issue, they are still Jews, and with us it should not be an issue, we are Nican Tlaca. No one questions them, and no one has the right to question us, especially Europeans. And if anyone attempts to do so, they must be dealt with firmly with the facts on this page, and the facts on the Mexica Movement website (www.mexica-movement.org).

JEWISH NAZI

On Saturday, November 26, 2005, members of the Minutemen and Save Our State organizations held a protest in front of NBC studios in Burbank, California. They were protesting what they perceived was a racist portrayal of their group on the television show "Law and Order." A little over a dozen members of the Mexica Movement showed up to counter-protest them, and to highlight the main flaw in their anti-immigrant rhetoric: that they, the descendents of Europeans, are the true illegals on this continent. Among the Minutemen protestors were a handful of African-American supporters, and two or three Nican Tlaca (Indigenous) self-haters.
When the small group of African-Americans first arrived, I was worried that they had not been paying attention, and had accidentally crossed over to the wrong side of the street. But as they pulled out their American flags and began taunting us with derogatory statements, their misguided intentions became all too clear. As the protest unfolded, we learned that two of the African-Americans present that day were Ted Hayes and the "Rev." Jesse Peterson.
Hayes in particular was a bizarre sight. Dressed in military boots and a hooded robe, Hayes spent most of the afternoon performing for the cameras than protesting against NBC. I remember watching him put on his act for nearly 20 minutes for one cameraman in particular. Afterwards, he commandeered the Minutemen's megaphone and shouted such insults at us as "Viva Cortes," and "You guys have no hearts because the Aztecs cut them out!" Hayes also pointed to our signs that read "Racist Whites, You Get Off Our Continent," and said "What about me? I thought Black people couldn't be racist." The obvious answer to his ridiculous comment is, of course, some Black people can be racist. We need only look to the late 1800s to see an example of this. At that time, Europeans recruited ex-slaves and Union soldiers of African descent to hunt down and kill the Nican Tlaca people of the so-called "Western Frontier." These mercenaries, commonly referred to as Buffalo Soldiers, are a sad example of how Europeans have used one oppressed group against another to carryout their dirty work, murder, massacres, and genocide, . Ted Hayes and the other African-American supporters of the Minutemen, SOS, and other Neo-Nazis, are nothing more than modern-day Buffalo Soldiers, mere pawns of the European organizers of the Minutemen and SOS who are attempting to put a "diversity" spin on their racist agenda. Do not be deceived.
Another African-American supporter of the Minutemen is the "Rev." Jesse Lee Peterson. Peterson likes to describe himself as the "antidote to Jesse Jackson," and has launched a national boycott of the NAACP. Viewing his website, www.bondinfo.org, it is immediately clear where Peterson is coming from. What is not so clear is why he feels this way. Peterson has written a variety of right-wing, self-hating essays, such as "Stop Reparations Now!" and "Kwanzaa—Racist Holiday from Hell." It is a little easier to dismiss Peterson's support of the white, racist Minutemen and SOS, because his position is most likely not representative of the majority of African-Americans.
What is not so easy to dismiss was the presence of at least two Nican Tlaca (Indigenous) supporters of the Minutemen. These misguided individuals held signs reading "Choctow American Indian Minutewoman," and "Proud Chicana/Hispanic Minuteman." One can only imagine the racism and hardships they must endure on a daily basis to make them hate their own people in such a manner. The only rational comparison would be to the numerous Jewish Nazis who worked for Hitler and somehow rationalized sending their own brothers and sisters to concentration camps, and in some cases personally firing the ovens. In his book, "Hitler's Jewish Soldiers," author Bryan Mark Rigg writes that as many as 150,000 Jews wore Nazi uniforms, and willingly participated in the destruction of European Jews. Those of our people who love the oppressor should stop and consider one thing—in the end even the Jewish traitors failed "to escape the fate of millions of other victims of the Third Reich." So keep that in mind "Proud Chicana/Hispanic," once the Nazi Minutemen and SOS are through using you, you too will be nothing more than a pathetic and embarrassing footnote in history.
This recollection on the Burbank protest was written to help explain who the treacherous "minority" supporters of the SOS/Minutemen are. The latest propaganda campaign on the part of the SOS is to recruit/use "minorities" so that the charges of racism can be more easily dismissed. But the true intentions of the SOS/Minutemen are easily discernable when one barely scratches its surface. Towards the end of the NBC protest, our video cameras captured the African-Americans' attempts to start a "Down with racism" chant, and the Minutemen's refusal to participate in the chant. While the African-Americans were fruitlessly chanting, the SOSers were busy looking at their watches or staring off in the opposite direction.
Ignorance, self-hate, and the insane love of Europeans are the only things that can account for Jews being part of the Nazis, and for our people and African-Americans being part of the Minutemen and SOS.
