NEW BOOKS

For The People Of Anahuac

1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus
by Mann, Charles C.
Price:  $34.95

1491  will challenge you to look at this continent, this land, and the whole world with new eyes. This well documented book presents fact after fact that will get you to rethink everything that you have been taught about “the Americas” and European colonization.

For our people this book documents the beauty of our civilizations in all their magnificence and gives the proof of the lies when Europeans said that we were savages and that our land was empty.

The book explains how in 1491 this pair of continents that are falsely called North and South America were nothing like what we were taught in school. There were many cities here that were larger than any city of Europe. The Mexica people of the city of Tenochtitlan, the capital of the so-called Aztecs, lived in a city of 350,000 inhabitants. This was larger than London, which was Europe's largest city with 80,000 inhabitants. The Mexica were the first people in the history of humanity to have mandatory education for people in all ranks of society.  The people of Anahuac ("North America") developed great inventions, contributed to the knowledge of medicine, astronomy, city building, architecture, art, theology, and many other sciences and arts.
The Mexica, Maya, Inca and other civilizations were a world of great studies in the calendar, mathematics, engineering, and countless other accomplishments. This continent had a totally different and beautiful view of the world that now seems like something out of science fiction or fantasy, but it was real.
1491 explains how this continent was conquered more by biological warfare, by smallpox and other diseases, than through anything to do with the canons, armor, steel, horses, or military genius that we were all taught.  Europeans were definitely not superior to us in any way, other than as liars, killers, thieves, rapists, slavers, pirates, unethical/immoral culture, and a criminal nature to all of their dealings with us.
This will be a great addition to books like Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States, James Loewen's Lies My Teacher Told Me, David Stannard's American Holocaust, and James Blaut's Colonizer's Model of the World.

AMERICAN INDIAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE WORLD:

15,000 Years of Inventions and Innovations

by Emory Dean Keoke & Kay Marie Porterfield

This book presents to us all the glorious civilizations that blossomed here in what today is called the “Americas”, before the horrible European invasions that began in 1492. Emory Dean Keoke and Kay Marie Porterfield are the authors of this inspiring, motivating, and strengthening book, which demolishes all the racist views that have portrayed all of the Indigenous peoples of the “Americas” as “uncivilized” and “barbaric”.

The two Scholars present uplifting accomplishments that took place "the Americas”. These accomplishments are huge and to a certain extent unbelievable. They appear to be unbelievable because they present facts that we have never heard of.  They tell us of medical instruments and medicines that have cured and saved millions of lives through out the world. We read of foods that where domesticated (corn, squash, tomatoes, potatoes, etc.) in the “Americas” dating back to 15,000 years ago, and which today harvested in the many gardens and fields of the world.

In this encyclopedic book we find out about ideas that were generated to make sure all citizens had a productive role in Indigenous societies, ideas that have been adopted by most modern societies. Ideas like mandatory education for both female and male no matter what rank you were in society.  Generous ideas like public hospitals to make sure you had healthy citizens.

Such concepts are never mentioned in relation to people of Mexican, Salvadorian, Honduran, and “Native American” decent people.  Our people were the creators of all of this innovation.

But the truth is that Europeans have taken credit for these great accomplishments.  And to make matters worse, Europeans have written history books that say that our people were not capable of creating such elaborate civilizations and inventions. Not only have Europeans written racist history books, but they have also divided our great Indigenous family with borders that have torn us from our brothers and sisters and torn us from our true history.

Emory Dean Keoke and Kay Marie Poterfield have done an excellent research of all the world's civilizations in order to properly explain the significance of every invention created by the Indigenous peoples of the “Americas”. This is done so that we can all see the impact the Indigenous societies have had in different fields: science; astronomy; mathematics; food; medicines; government; and so on. Their eloquent descriptions of the Indigenous people of "North and South American” civilizations erases all the false racist images and myths that have been written in the history books that we read today.

The strengthening part of this book is that it presents the evidence that proves the Indigenous people of the “Americas” as a people who are great intellects, innovators, and builders of magnificent civilizations. These are facts that are needed today to replace the lies that make up today's curriculums which only misinform students in all levels of schools.

This book is going to help us tell the people of Mexican, “Central American” and “Native American” decent and their children that they are the descendants of these civilizations, cultures, and great accomplishments.

We need to let books like this be one of many vitamins that will nourish the millions of minds of the people of Mexican, “Central American” and “Native American” decent.

This book will help us understand that we have the capacity to plan for a future where we can continue where our ancestors left off.

The Mexica Movement applauds the work of Emory Dean Keoke and Kay Marie Portefield for presenting to us the greatness of our ancestor’s accomplishments and inventions. We will be waiting for more of their works so that our ancestors can be put back in their proper place in the history of humanity, their place as the priceless treasure that they are.

We need to reconstruct

our Anahuac-centered knowledge base.

Our Anahuac knowledge starts

with the vast Mexica sources that are available.

These sources are in some case corrupted

but they are NOT UN-reconstructable.

These Mexica sources

are an intellectual, dignified, honest,

and honorable way to study

our Anahuac heritage.

Little by little we can study

the rest of our Anahuac heritage.

But first we must begin

by learning the basic facts:

1) We must learn our true Anahuac history, the history that happened before the European invasion.  That history that happened before 1492, which is 99% of our history.

2) We must learn of our great accomplishments.  These accomplishments are the basis of our true pride, a great pride that is missing from us today.  We are being kept from our pride by the Europeans who control our lives, our continent, and the wealth of our land.

3) We must be clear about our core Nican Tlaca (Indigenous) identity.  Forget the borders, the languages, the shades of color.  Our Nican Tlaca identity cancels out the scar of the rape of our people.  Mixed-blood or Full-blood, we are still Nican Tlaca.  The rape that has scared us does not matter---it is only a scar, that scar does not define us.

4) We must keep an awareness of the past and the ongoing crimes of the Europeans.  This means we should know our proper anger

----and that we should be teaching the Europeans on our continent their proper shame.

5) We must be conscious of our present slave condition.  It is a condition which we must confront with actions of liberation.  These actions can be best done through the Anahuac-centered education warrior work of the Mexica Movement.  The Mexica Movement is the warrior instrument which is leading our people to the total liberation of our people.  This liberation will end all European control over our lives and our continent.

     FACTS  Y O U   S H O U L D   K N OW

MEXICA    Mexica (Meh-shee-kah) is the original Nahuatl (the so-called Aztec language) way of pronouncing Mexican, Mexicano, and Chicano and Chicana. The Mexica was the last of our great Anahuac civilizations (1325 to 1521).

Mexica is the only one of our cultures and civilizations which has enough surviving material sources from which we can reconstruct our Anahuac nation.

The Mexica were victims of an ethnocide that left no one today who can authentically call themselves Mexica, much like in Italy there is no one who can authentically call themselves Roman.

Therefore, the rest of us who have lost all of our Anahuac civilization identity and culture or tribal identity and culture, and even those of us who have a civilization or tribal identity, can and should embrace Mexica identity as a collective identity for all of us, along with our known civilization or tribal group.

We need to have this Mexica identity in unity in order to reconstruct our Anahuac nation and as a means of assured reconstruction of Anahuac and as an assured tool of Liberation.

Mexica does not negate Maya or Huichol or Comanche or Shoshone or any of our other Nican Tlaca (Indigenous) civilizations or cultures.

Mexica is our point of unity and our means of reconstructing all of our nation.

ANAHUAC    Anahuac (Ah-nah-wak) is the true name of our nation. We are all part of the Anahuac civilization that gave us the Olmeca, Zapoteca, Teotihuacan-Toltec, Maya and Mexica civilizations. The Mexica part of our Anahuac heritage is how we can reconstruct ourselves as a Nican Tlaca (Indigenous) nation, as the Anahuac Nation. We have historic, cultural, linguistic, and racial factors that make us one Anahuac nation, which includes all of our civilizations and cultures. The Mexica heritage gives us a history, language, theology, and study base from which we can rebuild all of our Anahuac heritage.  We are a beautiful mosaic of civilizations and cultures throughout this whole continent that Europeans call "America".  But this is not "America", this is Anahuac.

NICAN TLACA    Nican Tlaca is our Nahuatl (Mexica) language way of saying "We the people here", in reference to all of us who are Indigenous to Cemanahuac (what Europeans call "the Western Hemisphere") and more specific to Anahuac which is the northern part of Cemanahuac (which is falsely called "North America"). Nican Tlaca refers to all of the people of our race in the "Western Hemisphere".  We are not Indians or indios because those are the people of a nation called India.  We are also not "Native American" because we are not related to Amerigo Vespucci, nor do we accept the concept of "Native" because it is always used in a derogatory manner.  Notice how there are no "Native" Europeans.

NOT MESTIZO    Mestizo is a racist term imposed on us by the Europeans.  Mestizo (Mixed-blood)as an identity denies us our full humanity, it enslaves us to the European world.  Full-blood or Mixed-blood we are still Nican Tlaca. Being Mixed-blood (so-called Mestizo) does not stop us from being Nican Tlaca, no matter how "white" one looks. The shades and physical looks of our Mixed-blood people are just scars from the rape of our nation. The scars do not define us! Our history, our heritage, and our continent ARE what defines us.

"CENTRAL AMERICA"    "Central America" was artificially created in 1823. Before that date we were all part of Anahuac. Anahuac includes Mexico, "Central America", Canada and the so-called U.S. We are not "Central Americans", therefore we use that term it quotes to reject it; while at the same time we know that most of our people are ignorant to its racist and colonial terms and that is the only way that they will know what we are talking about.  Much like us using the English or Spanish language, we use them in order to communicate with our people but we know that they are not our languages.  If we wrote the whole website just in Nahuatl or Maya the majority of our people would not understand a word of our website.

NOT HISPANIC    Hispanics are the Spaniards, the people of Spain. We are not Spaniards! We are Mexica! We are the people of Anahuac.  We are the Nican Tlaca (Indigenous people) of this continent, the true owners of this continent.  We are not Spaniards or the property of Spain.  Calling ourselves "Hispanic" denies us our true Nican Tlaca Anahuac identity, history and heritage. It enslaves us to the interests of the "Spanish" white world. Calling our people Hispanic is racist.  Calling our people Hispanic is like calling the African descent people in the U.S. Britannic because they have British names and because they speak English.

NOT LATINO    Latinos are the Latins: Southern Europeans--the Spaniards, French, and Portuguese. Calling ourselves "Latino" makes us cultural slaves of Europeans. Like Hispanic, Latino is cultural suicide. It is cultural genocide. It betrays our true Nican Tlaca ancestors.

NOT RAZA    "Raza" is not an identity. "Raza" is basically the same thing as using the Eurocentric term "Mestizo"--it takes pride in Spanish blood (what little or nothing that we may have) and puts shame in our Nican Tlaca blood and culture. Calling ourselves "Raza" is a way of saying, "I'm not an 'Indio', I have some, mostly, Spanish blood". In Mexico "Dia de la Raza" is celebrated on October 12---Columbus Day. Imagine that! We are celebrating the rape of our mothers, the rape of our nation, the enslavement of our people.

EUROPEAN, WHITE, AND CRIOLLO are basically the same thing. These are "White" people who are on our continent. Europeans can call themselves "Canadian" or "American" but their homeland is still Europe and they are still trespassing on our continent. A Criollo is someone of "authentic Spanish-European" descent who is still on our land exploiting our people, our resources and our wealth. GENOCIDE as defined by Raphael Lemkin, "...is the planned annihilation [killing] of a national [Mexican] or racial group by a variety of actions [biological warfare, oppression, enslavement] aimed at undermining the foundations essential to the survival of the group [Nican Tlaca of Anahuac] as a group.

MEXICA MOVEMENT is leading the way with actions that defend our people, actions that provide a vision for the liberation of our people, actions that confront the racism against us and the occupation of our continent by Europeans. We declare ourselves independent from the Hispanic-Latino European colonialism and racism that has enslaved us for over 500 years.
