EUROPEAN DESCENT SUPPORT:
MEXICA MOVEMENT,
Hi. I have just seen your site and I want to share my feelings with you.
First, I agree wholeheartedly that Christopher Columbus was a coldhearted criminal and Not in any way a hero. It disgusts me that a holiday is named for such a horrible man. I also agree that most history books do not tell the truth about that time period and the crimes commited against the indigenous people.
I read National Geographic and this most recent episode tells what you and I already know about what really went on that history books leave out. In high school, I learned that one of the main suppliers of these so-called history texts is California, but instead of being accurate, the books are so politicly correct that entire chunks of history are being left out on the chance that someone would be offended ( I did a report on the lies and coersion of school books as a junior in high school). Therefore, small children are taught that when Columbus was greeted with gifts of gold and beads, he returned the generosity; yet in actuallity he kidnapped hundreds of natives, crammed them into his boats and shipped them to Spain to be slaves.
Second, I hate Disney. Disney movies are, well, crap. The artwork is terrible, the plots are always the same and most are about white people..well except for Mulan, Pocahontas and The Emperor's New Groove, but they weren't really factual anyway. I have never been to Disney Land, nor do I ever want to. Disney's idea of a small world is full of putrid stereotypes. Mickey Mouse has never been funny either. If you wouldn't mind, I would be more than happy to put a "boycott racist Disney" logo on my yahoo360 page :)
I myself am white, but I am NOT a supporter of supremacists of any kind. It is my firm belief that no matter your color, creed or place of ancestry; we are all brothers and sisters in the human race..And therefore I have a vast love all people, including you and the other members of your movement. After all, the truely best places to see in this continent are not old Wild West ghost towns or Mount Rushmore, but the Mayan and Olmec cities. The greatest acheivements were not the the locomotives, but an exremely beautiful and acurate calandar and the number 0, along with the first written alphabet. Hardly the work of so-called "brutes and savages".
That's the other thing: what on earth gave Columbus and his men the right to pass such cruel judgement?! Just because he wore frilly clothes [CLOTHES THAT WERE NOT CLEAN NOR WERE THE PERSONS WEARING THEM. EUROPEANS DIDN'T BATHE IN THOSE DAYS] didn't mean he was any better or smarter.
Why are those who want to become citizens quizzed about those things and not the truth, the original Americans? My own ancestors came from Whales and Ireland during the latter half of the 1800's via Ellis Island and never owned slaves or drove away your people But I AM sorry for the treatment your people recieved. I am also sick of all the violence and bigotry that surrounds our country and I hope that someday all of the many cultures that have flocked to this great land can co-exist peacefully and put an end to the hatred that is poisoning our lives. I am not the only whitey who feels this way. For every ignorant bigot, there are many more people like me who are here for you. I hope that you can consider me as a friend, as you have my utmost love and respect.
Sincerely, Katherine T.
GLENN BECK VIDEO AND CHILDREN CONFRONT WHITE SUPREMACISTS:
MAY 4, 2007
MEXICA MOVEMENT,
In response to the comments by Glenn Beck and the recent update on the website "What is Racism",
First, the 5/3/07 update of the school children... to label this video "inspiring" is a true understatement! Now on to the comments of Glenn Beck. It is, of course, obvious to anyone who is even somewhat familiar with the Mexica Movement how pathetically misinformed this man is when he hasn't even researched the website enough to know how to properly pronounce "Mexica". I'm just assuming that his producers handed him some papers about this "vile, racist" organization and like any well trained monkey he earned his peanuts. My initial reaction was to think why didn't he even put in the enough effort to attempt to refute the "philosophy of the Mexica Movement" that he splashed all across the screen so large that his listeners who couldn't believe what they heard could read it. Then it became quite transparent... Glenn Beck is not able refute it, nor is any other person who utters out loud what has been documented by their own people for centuries and continues to this day. So why not? Simply because to raise these questions and respond to them is to illuminate questions that most whites in the U.S. and the rest of the western hemisphere do not want to discuss. To attempt to refute these objective facts presented so bravely by the members of the Mexica Movement and other Mexican and Native activists would result in a frank discussion about race, history, ethnicity and the very foundations of this country. Whites might develop low self esteem, their ancestors might be seen in a bad light, or it might even hurt their feelings!! They would probably turn the channel to watch the Redskins game. So if you follow the arguement to the logical conclusion the question begs itself: why would person who stole your gold rolex want to discuss what it's doing on their wrist? I want to thank Olin and all of you for your hard work. We do appreciate it!! Tony M.
