Members and supporters of Mexica Movement and Colectivo Tonantzin gathered last night to resist "Thanksgiving." There was about 50 of us on Thursday, November 25, from 3-6pm at the Centrol Cultural De Mexico, Santa Ana, to remember what really happened on "Thanksgiving" and to support eachother in resisting the emotional/colonialist trap of such a "holiday." It was so inspiring to see families come with their children and young adults blossoming into beautiful and courageous warriors. The event started with a presentation by Scott Keltic Knot, member of Colectivo Tonantzin, who debunked the myth of Thanksgiving, giving the facts and actual names of our people that were massacred. Olin Tezcatlipoca, then followed, sharing two of his poems. One of hate and love. His presentation will soon appear on youtube, for those who were not able to make it. At the end we all sat in a circle and three of us shared some of our poetry. Citlalli Citlalmina Anahuac, shared a poem she wrote when just meeting the Mexica Movement, 13 years ago and one that she had written that morning. Nolan Plank, our 14 year old warrior, shared two of his beautiful poems. And lastly, Yaocuicatl Tlacaelel, shared two beautiful poems, in a very Anahuac fashion. The poetry reading followed a livel discussion about the different experiences that we all shared. Especially people that were attending the event for the very first time.

Tlazocamati to all who attended. It was very historical and inspiring. Let's not forget that small groups of people make history happen.
