| We got to see the real racist rat that Disney is when they initially refused to stop their film on Emiliano Zapata, starring the Spaniard Antonio Banderas. Banderas has played Mexicans in Desperado, Zorro, and now they wanted to make a film with this European playing our hero of heroes Emiliano Zapata. We protested for over a year at Disneyland. | We invited all sorts of "Zapatista supporters" to join us in the protest but not one ever showed up. Just the members of the Mexica Movement and an occasional other person showed up to join us in the year long protest. | The Disney people thought that we would stop protesting after a weekend or a month. But they were shocked to see how well organized we were and how determined we were to stop their film which was only at the planning stages. The director Gregory Nava was outraged that we would stop his film with his buddy Banderas. | The police were watching us over the year that we protested. In this photo you see a Disney employee videotaping our protest so that they can show our determination to their executives. We obviously made an impression that we were not going to stop until they stopped their Zapata film. | |||

| Here you can see some of the signs that we had on the side walk at the entrance to Disneyland. | Our members were out there all day long for over a year. | Yes, Disney does have an ugly history of racism. Remember that next time you consider going to Disneyland. | We next went on to protest Disney's production of the LION KING in Hollywood. Disney at that point surrendered and said they no longer had plans to make the vendido Gregory Nava's film on Zapata. Victory for our people. But maybe if more people had joined us it wouldn't have take over a year to achieve victory. We have so much more work and more protests to do, come join us at the Mexica Movement | |||
